The party is still going on downstairs. But I am in my hotel room looking at photos with Casey from Moosh in Indy like it is the last night of camp.
Intimate conversations are my favorite part of a conference, so I drink in Casey’s company while I take in her beautiful photography. I love Casey’s work.
Casey heads to bed, and I check in on twitter and then head back to Flickr. I brought my new Canon 50D all the way here to Asheville, but I never even took it out of my hotel room. I get so absorbed in my speaking duties and visiting with friends, new and old, that I just never can seem to take photos at conferences.
Fortunately, wonderful photographers like Casey, Mishelle Lane, Rick from Tiny Prints, and more, are here capturing and sharing on Flickr. Make sure you check out the Type-A Mom Conferences shots over at Flickr! (Lots are up already, but I imagine once people stop partying, even more photos will appear!)
Here is a shot of Mishelle’s, (aka Secret Agent Mama,) of the talented Amber Haines, a gifted writer whom I am so honored to now call friend.
While we were here at Type-A Mom Conference, some of us speakers attended a special event at Dress Barn. We had a blast choosing one perfect outfit, (which Dress Barn gifted us each with,) and then we “modeled” them during breakfast Friday morning.
I was so excited to find this fun outfit. I especially loved the boots I chose. They are super comfortable, hip and fabulous — and only $39.99. I am impressed! I loved them so much that I wore them again today.
Here is a shot of us, I am on the left in the hat, after our breakfast runway show from Rick of Tiny Prints:
Of course, get this many incredible women together and we will have some serious fun!
I love this shot from Rick of Tiny Prints:
How can I not love conferences when I get to hang out with power chicks like Barbara Jones and Alli Worthington. (Yes, these woman are hot and powerful!)
I feed off the energy and passion of my fellow Type-A Moms — my blogging kindred who understand my madness.
This conference was a beautiful blend of panels and networking, teaching and connection.
I leave inspired, energized, and content to be a part of this community.
I love blogging. I love my online friends so dearly. My life would be so much less without them. (I want to start listing you all here — but if I did so, I might forget some in my weary state and so I think it may be best not to try…)
Thank you to my friends, new and old. Meeting you in person is a precious gift. I am so grateful.

After ALL these years meeting you in PERSON was at the top of my agenda :).
And I smiled at the end of your post–I keep wanting to shout out hugs on Twitter to the people I met (I’m sure when I write post recaps, too) but I’m horrified I’ll miss someone and they’ll see it and feel like I didn’t care–when I DID! I’m just forgetful!
🙂

I really like your hat!
Type-A personality that used to be me before being a mom. Now I can let go of the lists — mental or written — and I’m better for it.
