I have to admit that my purse ends up looking like a black hole of mystery. I realized that I needed to clean out my purse after I reached in to grab an ink pen and discovered . . . a cold, hard ball in my purse! I honestly do not remember putting that apple in there.
Obviously I have a little issue with produce. I’m working on it . . .
This week I decided to dump out my purse and get down to the basics. You would not believe all of the things I found in my purse. On top of the apple, I found toys, an abundance of tissues, old receipts, a DVD, cash, and several tubes of lipstick that I didn’t even know I owned!
It amazed me that it only took me 5 minutes to clean out my purse, and it has honestly made my whole week smoother. Now I can find what I need and that is a wonderful feeling.
How to Organize Your Purse in 5 Minutes
I’m trying to narrow my purse down to the very basics. Inside, you will now find:
- Wallet
- Keys
- Planner
- Feminine needs
- 1 tube of lipstick
- 1 small pack of tissue
Am I missing any essentials? What do you carry in your purse?

I love to see your projects and was inspired to create a rotating weeks menu plan after seeing this great article at SaverChic! And I have to say, Twisted Cinderella, you have inspired me to tackle my freezer like you did in this post — great job!
Hope you have a great week!
Now, take a peek into your purse and let me know what you’ve got in there!

Melanie, I don’t know how you did it but you succeeded in telling my story. You must have been in my purse! I actually found a green apple in one of my handbags last week. Too Funny!

Holy cow! Thank you so much for mentioning my article about the rotating meal plan. I really appreciate it, and I’m glad it helped!
I’m off to clean out my purse, now.

fun post! laughing…right now anything we leave in the van freezes, so we won’t start smelling it for a while. happy day to you.
I found a great way to organize my purse is to empty it all out into a large plastic bag. Then, I only put back what I need into the purse. The rest gets stored away and put back into its place, or thrown away.

To add to your list, I always have a pen, business cards, points cards, tic tacs, and my cell phone in my everyday purse as well. When i go to meet a new client for my organizing services that is a whole different ball game. I have a tote from Thirty One Gifts for that.
I have way more than that in my purse: hairbrush, hairclips/ponytail holders (for me and for my girls), pens (have to have extras for the kids), notepad…
We went to a restaurant once, and my mom ordered a banana split. The server came back and said they couldn’t serve a banana split because they’d run out of bananas. So my mother produced a banana from her purse and asked if they could just use hers! lol
