My Interview with Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman

08/07/09 | By Janice

Can you hear me squeal with excitement?!?

Yes, I actually got to interview THE PIONEER WOMAN!!!

Ree Drummond is one my blogging heroes. (I would call her a blogging idol, but I always cringe at the word “idol.”)

Her blog, The Pioneer Woman, is absolutely delicious! Not only do her recipes have me drooling on my keyboard, but her photography is stunning. Oh — and this woman can write too! Ree has it all!

The only problem I have with The Pioneer Woman is that when I visit her site, I can’t leave! I just keep clicking and digging deeper, reading photography tips, swooning over her love story, and wishing I had time to try all her incredible recipes. The Pioneer Woman is wonderfully addictive!

Over the past few years, I have met many of my blogging heroes. But never The Pioneer Woman. To have the chance to meet Ree Drummon in person and interview her, (AND she took my photo!!!) well, I was just plain giddy with joy.

Well… it is amazing to see that Ree is just as much a sweetheart in person as she comes across in her blog. What a fabulous down-to-earth soul. Can’t wait for her to tour when her cookbook comes out this fall! I. will. be. in. line. !!!

Thanks for the great interview. Gotta love that Chicago summer breeze and the Chicago River backdrop too. Nice interview, good job.

She does have some great marriage advice there… “Just love them and they’ll love you back.”

It’s kind of funny to hear her tell us that she lives on an isolated ranch and homeschools because I read her blog every day and already know that. 🙂

Great interview. I love your videos and getting to hear what the bloggers sound like.

I have to admit that I was lolling my tongue like a groupie when I met Ree at BlogHer. By the 2nd time I ran into her, I tried to be all cool like we could hang together, but I’m sure I was still starry-eyed. Glad you got this great interview!

What a fantastic interview! I love Ree’s blog and wish I could spend more time there. Haven’t had the chance to read about the love story but I’m so excited to because I think it’s wonderful when someone talks positive about their spouses and relationships. It’s not often you see that so I can’t wait to read more.

Thanks for sharing this fun interview.

As a new mom who is hoping to get better at photography, it was encouraging to hear that my ERA of .5 good photos per 1000 is okay for a beginner!!
