Every year in November, I sit my kids down with paper and pencil and ask them to create for me a wish list of what they want for Christmas. I started doing this because I can remember growing up with my mom getting me what she wanted me to have. While I was appreciative of those gifts, they never meant as much as the ones that I had begged for all year long. So — I make sure my children create their own wish list so that I can try my best to get a few things for them that they have really been wanting all year.
So, what do my kids want for Christmas this year?
My son is almost 18, so there are no toys on his list. In fact, he really only wants a few things:
He is really wanting his own netbook. We found this great bargain at Walmart.com! It’s on rollback for $228 (and I am sure by Black Friday it will be even cheaper.) Since he will be 18, I figure this is definitely something I can get for him.
His other items on his wish list are basics any parent gets for her child: clothes, cologne, X-Box live membership, Microsoft points (yes –he’s a gamer)
Now, my daughter on the other hand — she is my hard one to buy for. I ask her what she wants, and she says she doesn’t care. She’s really into photography right now, so I am thinking frames, a new camera, tripod, and all the little things a newbie photographer would love to have!

You know, growing up I used to LOVE Christmas. As a grown up, it’s not so much fun for 6 simple reasons …. three belong to me and three belong to my boyfriend. Yes, you read that right, between the 2 of us we have 6 teen chaps. lol I can tell you without a doubt that electronics are 90% of their wish lists. Looking at them all we realized that there is only one thing that they each want and that is an mp3 player. So here is crossing my fingers that we’ll be able to provide this Christmas. I am going to be a little different than the other posters, I am sponsoring a family in need for Christmas and they need underwear, t-shirts, winter coats etc. To go more into detail their mom (my aunt) died at 40 years old, her kidneys and liver rapidly shut down and there wasn’t anything shock trauma could do. My cousins are 8 and 13 and will appreciate anything they get. My uncle never asks for anything and wears super old clothing so that is what I’d do with the money. Sorry to go on and on about it and yes I can prove her death if you need to.

This year has been very challenging to my children. My son was 10 and my daughter was 1 1/2 when her father kicked us out of his house and refused to assist with support. We have been blessed by the lord to make it month after month for the bills and the necessities of life, but to have anything extra, has been extremely tough. We have been given the approval from the owner of our home, to get a puppy with a $300 deposit and they will allow me to make payments. I have started to purchase items from the dollar store in advance for the items that can assist with a new puppy once I find the right dog for our family. We are currently in a battle for support for my child so anything while we are struggling would be of great assistance for my kids Christmas and so greatly appreciated. My son has been saving and working, recycling cans and doing extra chores, to get a “laptop”– he’s nine so we aren’t exactly sure what he means when he says it. He made it to just about a hundred and fifty dollars and was able to get a tablet. I think it’d make his whole world if santa brought a little keyboard that might, in his mind, turn his tablet, that he is oh so appreciative of and loves already, into a “laptop”.

I am the Mother of 7, and the Grandmother of 12. I am widowed and trust me….if not for a gift, I can use it for food! lol. I only have 2 left at home – ages 16 and 21. The 16 year old wants Dance 4 for her wii, and other than that she hasn’t requested anything knowing money is tight. I feel guilty not being able to make Christmas for these last 2, what it was for the other 5 kids before we lost their Dad 5 years ago.

My son would die if I actually bought him something fun for a change rather than the same boring neccessities, ie socks, underwear, etc. that mommy usually comes home with. Wow… this is amazing! My husband and I have 7 children. We have been blessed to have a healthy loving family and a roof over our head…but financially, we are struggling. As a first time camera, I recommend a Canon PowerShot because this was my first camera! It’s affordable but takes great photos. If she really loves it, you can bump her up to a fancy DSLR like the Canon T3 or something! Tripods are always fun too!

Then the money is used to by holiday gifts for families at the school that are in need. They don’t just take change. If I won this giftcard I would donate it to this program.

I would love to win this gift card to buy my parents something. I have recently lost my job and $50.00 would go far at Walmart. I would love to suprise them this year since they are so giving to my family. Even though I have not been able to re pay them back at leat this would give me a chance to show them how much they mean to me with a extra something added to the holsidya spirit!

We don’t really have money this christmas to buy my 8 year old son too much, so this would greatly help!
My son only wants an x-box game, not the x-box but a 2 player game. He doesn’t ask for anything, only for his birthday & Christmas, I don’t see why not for this Christmas to be a pleasing one. Merry Christmas to you all I wish you all the best, especially to all children!!!
