Capture and Share Childhood Moments with Karoo

I am a working mom. Yes, yes …. my kids have spent their entire life in the care of someone else. I’ve struggled with the mom guilt and the “missing outs” and all the other things that come along with it.

But, my husband and I decided early on that we would never go second-rate on the centers where our children spent their days. We discovered that choosing only the best childcare meant we got better communication on the daily happenings of our children.

Those daily communications have totally changed over time, though. Gone are the days of the paper pad with the standard cutesy clip art with circles filled in and ounces listed and “poop or pee”. Gone are the days of the handwritten notes at the bottom that say “Had a great day! Played well with friends.” One brilliant company has just killed these little notepads in one super-power worthy swoop!

Enter Karoo.

Karoo is a new app that brings the daily activity sheet of the babysitter and daycare center into mobility. This piece of technology gives me – the parent – a real time connection to the caregiver.

Watch this great video that demonstrates just how Karoo works:

There is never an hour that passes that I don’t wonder what the kids are doing. Especially if one wasn’t feeling well in the morning, now I am able to communicate and see if they are better or know that I need to head home. Karoo creates an open dialogue that allows me to feel completely in touch without being geographically there! Status updates can be as frequent or sporadic as you dictate; know all or as little as you feel is necessary.

The ability to upload pictures and video is a complete gift! Show me the great picture that my child just drew, or the silly face she kept making during story time, or how peaceful he looked during nap. And, at the end of the day, you can download the media to keep — they aren’t just stuck in the app forever.

Because Karoo is a private network (not like Facebook) – you pick who your network contains. Include your caregiver, yourself and your spouse, even grandparents! It’s all in your control as the parent. No one can see anything that is posted if they aren’t in your network. The system is 100% secure.

The best part about the entire technology is that Karoo is offering this app free of charge. Every babysitter, daycare, and Mother’s Day out program should strongly consider using this technology on it’s own … or in coordination with what they already offer. (46% of US adults own a smartphone!)

Never miss another important milestone in the life of your child … download Karoo today!

Could it be only me or does it give the impression like a few of the remarks appear as
if they are left by brain dead folks? 😛 And,
if you are writing at other sites, I’d like to follow everything new you have to post.
Could you make a list of the complete urls of your public sites like your twitter feed,
