My son seems to think plates are optional. He pulls the bread out of the bag, slaps it down on the counter and starts to slather on the peanut butter — as I squeal in horror, “Jackson, use a plate!”
Now it isn’t the crumbs that he leaves behind that bothers me. It is my germ-hating. All I can picture when I see those pieces of bread on the counter is how unsanitary it is.
Most days, I wouldn’t describe my counters as clean enough to eat off of, so I got a kick out of this video about Scotch-Brite(TM) Botanical Disinfecting Wipes.
For more information, including a valuable product coupon, visit Scotch-Brite.com/PlatesOptional.
Oh — and a very cool plus about the Scotch-Brite(TM) Botanical Disinfecting Wipes is that they are made from botanically pure plant extracts and kill 99.9% of household germs* botanically. The wipes leave no residue and do not require surfaces to be rinsed or hands to be washed after use. Even better, they are safe around pets, kids, and food.
**Kills over 99.9% of household germs: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin Resistant S. aureus (MRSA), Enterobacter aerogenes, Influenza A virus, Rhinovirus type 37. Sanitizes hard non-porous non-food contact surfaces of Staphylococcus aureus and Enterobacter aerogenes in the presence of light or moderate soil load with a 30-second contact time.

I have to say that is one of the silliest videos I’ve watched in a while. But my kitchen counters and table could sure use one of those wipes!

I eat off of my kitchen counters and island, but I usually have a plate! Got to be careful of those dangerous germs that might be lurking! Never heard of the wipes, will have to give them a try.
