As parents, we spend so much of our back-to-school efforts preparing our kids for the classroom and beyond. But how do we prepare ourselves for communicating with teachers and other parents, and staying active and involved at our child’s school?

VolunteerSpot is a is a free online service that helps parents, teachers, and team leaders coordinate any number of important activities – from conferences to school carnivals, classroom readers to parties, snacks to service projects, and more. Get parents signed up easy, WITHOUT frustrating ‘Reply-All’ email!

VolunteerSpot lets anyone quickly post the help they need for their activity to be successful (e.g. volunteer jobs, donations of food, supplies or money). Once invited, parents can volunteer with a few clicks on the free online sign up sheet from their smartphone or computer, without having to create a password! Email confirmations and reminders are sent directly from VolunteerSpot, helping busy parents remember their commitments.

Volunteer Spot process

Simplifying the sign-up process even more is the new iPad app, Clipboard by VolunteerSpot. A room mom looking for help with different classroom projects can use the Clipboard by VolunteerSpot app to quickly open a sign-up sheet she has already created at VolunteerSpot.com, then simply hand her iPad to other parents to have them sign up immediately, in real time. No more passing around paper and pen or waiting until “later” to extend the invitation or hear back from potential volunteers.
