Oven Perfect Pork Makes Dinner Easy (with Giveaway)

It’s the perennial question: What’s for dinner tonight? And in my house, that’s an easier question to answer, thanks to Oven Perfect Fresh Pork Products, new from Farmland Foods.

I’m busy. Who isn’t these days? And as much as I love to cook, I don’t always plan things out as well as I should. It will suddenly be 3pm, and I haven’t figured out what I’m making for dinner. Or I had thought about making chicken, but I hadn’t started marinating it yet and now don’t have time to. Oops. I don’t love eating out all the time, either because of the ingredients or the cost factor.

Oven Perfect Fresh Pork comes already marinated in a sealed bag, so the work is done for me. There are different varieties of flavors and cuts, from peppercorn baby back ribs to onion garlic loin roast. I was sent three varieties of pork tenderloin to try out, the original, the teriyaki sesame ginger, and the southwest style peppercorn. I was thrilled to see that many of the varieties are gluten free, for those with dietary restrictions.  Most varieties also use ingredients I’m familiar with and that I use when making my own marinades, another bonus for me.

It was easy as pie – no, it was far easier than pie – to cook these and so convenient. It was as easy as removing the stickers from the packaging and placing them still sealed in the bag into an oven for less than a half hour. Yes, it cooks right in the bag! Of course, it’s the middle of summer, so we decided to grill these, which worked beautifully, as well. And yes, in that case, you remove them from the bag. We used indirect heat not too hot, and they turned out absolutely perfect.

They were moist and oh so flavorful. While the wee ones were initially nervous of trying anything they thought would be too spicy and so wanted only the original, once we convinced them to try the teriyaki sesame ginger, they were hooked.  In fact, that loin disappeared immediately because they kept wanting “just one more slice” of the delicious dinner. I think not grilling them in the marinade made them slightly less intense of a flavor than what they would have been had we cooked them in the oven. I will be buying these again and again, so I can test that theory out for myself.

I find this concept to be brilliant. It tastes homemade. It requires zero work on my part for those days when I “forget” to prepare dinner, and there’s no mess to clean up from the marinades I’ve prepped and dishes I’ve used to marinate my meat. With the variety of flavors and cuts, there’s something to suit every taste, and you won’t get bored eating the same thing over and over again.
