Quality Tools for Women from Tomboy Tools (Review and Giveaway)

I think its time to be totally honest with y’all.

When it comes to home projects, I am not the one you should come to. I have no idea how to use half the tools my husband owns. Not only that, I don’t even know where to find anything that isn’t a hammer or screw driver. He has things in the garage, the basement, the kitchen… I don’t know what most of it even is. I just never had to do those things. My husband (and my father in law) have always been so handy.

I do however remember the day we moved out of our old apartment and into our new home. I installed the Brita water filter to the sink faucet all by myself. And it was huge to me…because I didn’t even think that I could do that on my own. That happens to be my only project ever in the house… in eight years.

Until this week that is, thanks to Tomboy Tools.

Tomboy Tools sent me a Tomboy Tool Traveler. Tomboy wants to build confidence and empower women through education, quality tools and independent business opportunities. The Tool Traveler is one of Tomboy’s most popular kits and the perfect tool bag to haul your tools and accessories wherever you need them. I am kind of in love, I can’t help myself!

My kids stood around all excited as I opened each piece.  Included in the unique wide mouth canvas bag are 10 items:

  • 13 oz. Magnetic Head Hammer
  • 16′ Fractionalized Tape Measure
  • Multi-Bit Ratchet Screwdriver
  • Slip-Joint Pliers
  • Quick Changing Utility Knife
  • Torpedo Level
  • Rubber Grip Gloves
  • CE Certified Safety Glasses
  • Sanding Block
  • Carpenter’s Pencil

One of my favorite things in that bag? An enclosed instructional handout called ‘Tool School’ that shows you what each tool is – and how to use it. With Tomboy Tools, you can even get online and watch demonstrations on the tools, as well as see what other projects you might be inspired to try. Tomboy Tools are all about building confidence and I love that!

I got right in my garage for a small project and I have to say, it was pretty fun. It felt really good to feel self-sufficient! (And not to have to wait on my husband in some instances.)

I need to do a bunch of “fix-up” chores around the house. I need to take some air ducts down and clean them, I need to nail down some loose rails on the back porch, and I need to replace the bathroom floor. I’d love to have a set of tools of my own!

I would attempt the refinishing of my daughter’s vanity table with these tools. I need to take stuff apart in order to sand and stain it. My husband keeps hiding his tools on me. LOL
