Designer Consignment from Encore Maternity (Review and Giveaway)

by Christi Stark

I’m about 8 1/2 months pregnant now, and if you’ve ever been pregnant you know that as you get larger and larger it is more difficult to feel like you’re lookin’ good. It can sound superficial at first thought, worrying about how you look. But it can make a big difference for your self-esteem and happiness to have that outfit to pull out of the closet, throw on, and feel good.

Where I live I’m pretty limited for cute maternity clothes options, but thankfully there are sites like Encore Maternity to help me broaden my selection and afford designer clothes that really make me feel great. Their site offers gently used and new upscale, designer maternity wear at a fraction of the amount you’d spend at a retail store.

I got to review an outfit from Encore Maternity – a Michael Stars top and some J Brand jeans.

I added my own lightweight cardigan to complete the look. What do you think?

I’m in love with the shirt – it’s got a slight cowl neck to it and the color is perfect (I got a ton of compliments on it, too). The jeans fit great and don’t have the huge panel that so many maternity jeans do. The dark wash on the jeans is great, too – I think it’s slimming! The best part, though, is the price tag. The jeans retail for around $200, but at Encore Maternity they were less than $100. The shirt retails for around $60, and was tagged at $29. These discounts make a huge difference – who doesn’t love saving money?

The selection at Encore Maternity changes regularly as items are consigned or sold, so you’ll want to check often and snap up anything you love. You’ll find brands like Diane von Furstenburg, Black Halo, GAP, Isabella Oliver and more – all at reduced prices that allow you to get more bang for your buck.

I make sure that I get cleaned up early in the morning so that I don’t feel like I am just lounging around all day, even if that’s actually all I am doing. I also try to eat healthy

I would take baths and do all the fun little beauty rituals, kept my legs shaved, did an organic mask…it definitely made me feel better about me!

You look great! I am amazed how much maternity clothing has changed in the 11 years since i had my son. I don’t wish to be part of the give away, i just wanted to wish you the best for the birth and beyond.

My tip is to wear clothes that fit well, instead of tents. I’m as far along as you are, and it’s the days I lounge around in my husband’s baggy t-shirts that I feel the least pretty.

I am still trying my best to dress stylishly. :) Especially with accessories – trendy necklaces from Forever 21, my awesome red studded diaper bag, and some new Frye boots! I would love to try some new maternity clothes – what a cool company!

I go and get my toenails done. Swollen feet always look better painted. I also make sure my hair and makeup are done. That can do a lot for a pregnant lady…or at least me :)
