It seems just as we’re settling in to the slower pace of Summer, it’s time to start planning for Back To School! But no worries, this Fall it’s easier than ever to get your student back on track with technology powered by Microsoft.
Hardware
If a new laptop is on the list, check out the Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook™. With its sleek design and slim frame, this netbook is extremely portable and perfect for students on the go, and comes loaded with the versatile Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
Even the most hard-working student wants to express himself, and the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Limited Edition Artist Series is perfect for showing a little personality. Artists from around the world have lent their talents to designing these precision accessories, and with dozens of designs to choose from, your student is sure to find something that suits him.
Software
Microsoft Office (Office 2010 on the PC and Office 2011 on the Mac) contains the must have applications for school packed with features to capture your ideas and help transform them into great work.
- Presentations aren’t just for the boardroom; with PowerPoint, students can turn a poster board idea into a multi-media presentation with images, audio and video that will wow everyone.
- Authoring A+ papers and reports has never been easier with Microsoft Word – using familiar features that make editing and formatting easy, and put the focus on the grade.
- Want to make working with numbers easier? Excel comes with simple-to-use analysis tools such as Sparklines – embedded word-sized graphics – that bring visual meaning to complicated data.
- OneNote brings note taking to the digital age with easy to use tabs and search function. Keep audio, video, web clips and even scanned images in one place so that it’s never lost or forgotten.
Special deal on Microsoft Office: Buy Office Home and Student 2010, Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 (3 pack), Office University 2010 or Office for Mac University 2011 between August 8th and Sept 14th and get 15% off.
Storage
Skydrive is like giving your student a backpack in the cloud. Students can store notes, documents, projects, papers, and more more in Skydrive and access them from any device. No more forgetting their homework or getting stuck without the items they need to finish an assignment. For more info, check out SkyDrive.com/Students.
Special Deal
Finally, it doesn’t have to be all work and no play this Fall! Right now Microsoft is offering students who buy select Windows 7-based PCs for school a free Xbox 360 console with purchase. Certain restrictions apply, check for participating retailers.
With so many options for the best and coolest technology this Fall, students have more opportunities than ever to rise to the top of their class.
