Tackle It Tuesday: Put “Take a Break” on Your To-Do List

Stacey here…

Sometimes the most important thing you can put on your To Do list is “Take a Break!”

Our family has been busy preparing for a cross-country move, and the stress in our house is almost tangible. Then just a month after our relocation, we will be sending our oldest daughter off to college. Life is one big emotional roller-coaster right now.

This week my husband and I had the opportunity to visit our new town in advance of our move, just to get things settled with the house and schools here. I almost told my husband to take the trip without me; I didn’t feel like I could spare one single second away from the planning and prepping at home.

But my husband insisted, and I’m so glad he did.

When times are tough and deadlines are tight, it’s still important to take a moment to just breath. So that’s what I’ll be doing this week – just breathing – and looking forward to a bright and exciting future for everyone in my family.

I took a little R & R yesterday at a local lake. The water was bath water temp, and there was a refreshing breeze. The kids had a blast and made friends while I watched them get more comfortable in the water.

Good for you. Its amazing what a little “me-time” can do for your outlook and output. I actually think there’s some science supporting this – but I’m on a break right now.
