Checking In With The Sisters!

Written by Stacey

With another week coming to a close, it is time to check-in with our wonderful Sister Sites to get a sampling of the great writing happening here in the 5 Minutes for Mom family:

This week at 5 Minutes for Special Needs Ellen wrestles with the decision of whether or not she should intervene between her son, Max, and other kids. As the weather warms up and we venture out to the playgrounds and parks, this is something that most parents will be faced with. You can read Ellen’s story, How much should you encourage other kids to play with your child?, and other great stories at 5 Minutes for Special Needs.

Are you as confused as I am about the differences between eating organic vs. “green” vs. nutritious? Thankfully Brianna breaks it all down for us over at 5 Minutes for Going Green! She discusses the benefits to our economy and our health when we shop locally and eat seasonally in the enlightening post Green Groceries: 9 Reasons To Eat Local.

Wedding season is among us once again! And, if you have a daughter of any age, you will want to head over to 5 Minutes for Books to read Melissa’s review of Voddie Baucham’s “What He Must Be…If He Wants to Marry My Daughter.” With two daughters in my house, this will definitely be on my must read list! Go check out Melissa’s review and enter to win your own copy of this great book!

“Kommen sie hier, bitte.” Did you catch that? If not, you need to read Staci’s post, Finding color in the gray, at 5 Minutes for Faith. She discusses how that simple German phrase helps her find comfort in her busy life and in a hectic world. And, in the midst of my crazy week, I am certainly listening for “Kommen sie hier, bitte.”

As parents we often pride ourselves on our ability to multi-task. Blogging while making dinner. Thinking through tomorrow’s to-do list while supervising homework time. Kelly reminds us of the importance and shear joy of taking time to live in the moment with our children as she writes “That’s Why They Call It The Present.” You can read this post and get other great parenting insight at 5 Minutes for Parenting!

Have you had a chance to read about Janice’s time in Disney World? Did you enter to win your own set of Park Hopper tickets?

And don’t forget to join us for the Ultimate Blog Party starting next week!!

Also, a great way to make sure you don’t miss out on these great posts and more is to subscribe to each sites’ RSS feed! You can find those feed links in the left sidebar on each site!
