KC Fortune Cookies

by Michelle M

Many people in my life are lucky enough to have everything they could possibly need. It makes gift giving difficult, though, as those are frequently the people for whom I most want to have a thoughtful gift (yes, Mom, I’m thinking of you).

I think I’ve found a new solution: Ordering a giant fortune cookie. And when I say that they are giant, I mean that they are really, really big.

KC Fortune Cookie Review and Giveaway

You can order a giant fortune cookie in any of these three flavors:  traditional vanilla (which can also be dipped in chocolate, and topped in sprinkles, if desired), chocolate, and cinnamon. I received one of each, and I was truly impressed by each cookies’ flavor. Mister Man loved the cinnamon fortune cookie best and his “mmm MMMM” as he ate it was pretty cool to witness. The chocolate had a nice cocoa flavor to it, and the vanilla one was the lightest in flavor and texture.

I love knowing that the KC Fortune Cookie Factory, based in Minnesota, makes all their cookies in a 100% peanut free facility, and that the cinnamon and chocolate  giant fortune cookies contain no artificial food dyes, as we try to avoid those. With all the allergies and other food sensitivities that people have, it’s nice to know that there is something I can feel comfortable sharing with just about everyone – even Little Miss can eat the dairy free treats.

I love how the giant fortune cookie arrived. It comes in a traditional White Chinese takeout container and is cradled in red crinkled party shred to ensure it arrives in one piece – and mine definitely did. This really adds to a great presentation for a gift, and I can’t wait to give one of my own!

KC Fortune Cookie Review and Giveaway - packaging

The KC Fortune Cookie Factory doesn’t just make giant  custom fortune cookies, they also sell regular size fortune cookies, and I’m thinking of ordering these as favors for Little Miss’s birthday party. The fortunes inside can be personalized, so how neat would it be to give everyone fortune cookies thanking them for coming to her party?

The personalized message offer up to 37 characters per line to customize your own fortune – on both sides of the slip. You can even upload a photo for free or do it in color for an extra $0.04 per slip. If you aren’t feeling creative, they have a whole database of fortune cookie messages for you to choose with every occasion from graduation to messages in Spanish to marriage proposals and more. I think I know what I’m doing next year for the end of year gifts for our teachers!

The regular size fortune cookies come in groups of 50 with up to 15 customized messages for $19.50 or 250 for $60, and you can choose a clear wrapper (they come individually wrapped fortunately) or a traditional wrapper that includes the ingredients. The regular sized fortune cookies only come in vanilla, however. You can add an extra special touch, though, and have the custom fortune cookies dipped in dark, milk, or white Guittard chocolate for an extra charge. Yum, right?
