Maybe you can check with the art teacher at a local school to see if he/she could use your stash of newspapers for their projects! I would guess they wouldn’t want ALL of your papers, but wouldn’t it be great if they could put even a week’s worth to good use?!

We like to collect the magazines in a box to send along to my sister-in-law in college. We get to pay Media Rate for the box and then she gets to have some “new” magazines at school to share with friends at the dorm!

Any that don’t capture her interest we’ve decided we will donate to our local ESL tutoring facility. I’m sure some of the advertisements can make great learning experiences for the students – and they are more fun and practical than textbooks can be!

Congrats on your second tackle, Amy!! Great job!! We have that problem, but it often happens with overflowing newspapers. I feel like I am eternally throwing away old newspapers.

I like the idea of keeping an idea journal and just clipping the articles you want to keep!

I like to tear pages out of magazines and keep them in a folder for future reference.

Great tips. We don’t subscribe to many magazines, but we have received subscriptions as gifts. I have trouble throwing mine out, just in case I want to look at it later, but I almost never do! I just need to read it and then recycle it!

We don’t get many magazines, but our catalogs usually go straight to the recycle bag with the newspapers, cardboard, etc. This week we tackled a weekend trip away.

Gosh you are a lot more organized than I am. I persuaded my daughter to get on – line and cancel as much of the junk as possible, but it still keeps coming.

Luckily I’ve just taken up pottery again and it makes for much more interesting protection paper for table tops.

I usually cut out the photo’s for a scrapbook so I can remember things I’d like to do in my house! And I’ve been using some photo’s for craft projects so I cut them out and put them in a folder before I toss them! Nice tackle!
