Keeping Up With Your Child’s Medical Records

by Jennifer Sikora

Jennifer here–

Last year we moved to a new city an hour away from our old one. I was in the process of having our medical records moved to our new town, however I hadn’t settled on a doctor just yet. Then, my daughter got really sick and we had no choice but to visit the attending doctor in town. You cannot imagine how hard it is explaining to a doctor about your daughter’s stomach issues. It would have been SO much easier if I had the medical records at my fingertips to pass on to the doctor so that she could see for herself my daughter’s medical history.

Well, now she and any other doctor can see your medical records as long as you are using the MotherKnows site and app.

What is MotherKnows

MotherKnows is a the best app on the planet. It organizes your children’s medical records, any medications they happen to be taking as well as how much they need to take. The app also tracks allergies your kids may have. It gives you 24-hour mobile and web access to all of your  kid’s medical information.

Watch this video on how MotherKnows works.

Sharing Your Child’s Health Records Has Never Been Easier

This versatile app makes it extremely easy for you to share your child’s health information, but in a digital format. You can get your health records direct from your pediatrician so that you can easily share health insurance information, emergency contacts, and tons more data that we usually don’t have time to memorize. You can also track immunizations + medications which comes in very handy! MotherKnows also shares important health and emergency data with day cares, camps, schools, grandparents, neighbors, babysitters, and anyone else you give it permission to. There is nothing like making sure the people who have your child’s best interest at heart, can also help him or her stay safe by having their personal health information at their fingertips.

All your medical data will be delivered to you via email in a downloadable pdf to keep on hand for your own personal records. Everything that you submit to MotherKnows is totally secure so you don’t have to worry about someone seeing your child’s personal information (see the website for details).

This app and its usefulness are great for day cares, caregivers, friends, parents, and any other people who may care for your child. It’s also great to take with you on family vacations as you never know when someone is going to be sick and need medical attention.

MotherKnows also has a couple of other neat uses as well.

Track your Child’s Milestones

You can keep track of all of your child’s milestones using the app and if you are pregnant, you can track your pregnancy with the Pregnancy app as well.

You can sign up for a 30 Day free trial by visiting the MotherKnows website.

Be sure and check out MotherKnows. It can definitely be a time saver.

This is pretty cool. I will have to check it out. Right now I do it the old fashion way, but I don’t always remember to carry the records book with me. I use a health record binder I found on Amazon.

This is a cool idea but would seem more appropriate for someone with a child who has a serious illness/multiple medical issues. For me it’s just not worth the price.

Seems like a great idea! But for those of us with kids with medical issues, we are already putting every penny in to their medical care and can’t quite afford nearly $100 for one year of an app on our phone. But I most certainly will find a way to keep my kids records on my phone, because that is a great idea!
