It seems like there is always a special occasion around here. If it isn’t Easter, it’s someone’s birthday or there’s a party for fun. I always try to have something special that everyone can eat or drink, whether it’s Little Miss who has a dairy allergy or a friend who is vegan or if it’s someone who loves wine or someone who doesn’t drink at all. Sometimes it takes a bit of creativity, but that’s part of what makes the special occasions special.
Whenever I host an event, I love to have a signature drink. While I try to make it something that both does and doesn’t contain alcohol, I don’t always succeed. I recently received a sampling of Kristian Regale sparkling juices, and I jumped on the chance to use these for some special occasions I had coming up (be sure and enter the giveaway at the bottom). When I think of sparkling juices, I usually think of the sparkling apple juices that are sometimes are a little syrupy sweet for me. The Kristian Regale sparkling juices come in six unique and fun sparkling juices from pear to black currant to lingonberry-apple.
I brought a bottle of the pomegranate-apple and a bottle of champagne to a friend’s 40th birthday weekend. It was a great version of a bellini, and we loved it. The juice was very sparkly and fit nicely with the champagne. It was a bright flavor and not overly sweet. We also tried it out at a “Moms Need Spring Break, Too!” night I had for some friends where we mixed the black currant and the pear with … vodka. We had to mix both because even though there were only five of us, the drink was so good we went through all the black currant and needed to choose a new flavor to mix. With the vodka, it was a great “chick drink” where it was slightly less bubbly but a perfect combination. Those were the fun creations I made, but the Kristian Regale website offers several other recipes for their sparkling juices.
For the friends who weren’t drinking alcohol, it was a nice treat for them to have something fun like this instead of the usual water or soda. Because the juices contain just water, juice concentrates, beet sugar, carbon dioxide, citric acid, and natural flavors, it is a very clean taste. Everyone was thrilled with the flavor and felt like they got something special. I liked that there were no “fake” ingredients or thingss that I don’t like to ingest in the sparkling juices. And the fact that the juices were a little more exotic made it even that much more special for everyone.
You can find the Kristian Regale sparkling juices at a wide variety of retailers around the country, or you can purchase it from Amazon either in individual bottles (around $13) or in 4 packs (between $20 and $25). I love that this is something I can do special for people who have so many different restrictions – the juices are free of the common allergens (wheat, dairy, soy, and nuts), they are non-alcoholic, and they are caffeine free – meaning people like me who are super sensitive to caffeine can drink them after nine in the morning. And since the bottles are not corked but instead are twist tops, when there is a bit left over, I can save it for the next occasion!
