If you know anything about me, you know I’m just a little into my radio. I’m always bopping around somewhere, and yes, I am that lady in her car jamming to the music. When I don’t have a radio or my iPod, I still always have something in my head, and my apologies to everyone around me for the singing I (try to) do. Would you believe that the only radio I have in my house is on my alarm clock? Let me introduce you to my next purchase!
Pure offers a portable Internet and FM radio with its ONE Flow device. The flow combines all sorts of my wants into one radio. Since the ONE Flow is portable – it plugs in anywhere and has a ChargePAK E1 battery for portable listening. I can bring it with me into the kitchen or the homework room or out on our back deck. I can even take it to tailgates where we usually have to rely on someone’s smart phone to get updated scores.
I like the idea of being able to listen to both FM and Internet radio. There are some truly cool Internet stations out there from Pandora to Spotify to Pirate Radio Network and way more. That said, I still enjoy my traditional FM stations for local information and DJs I enjoy. I wish the ONE Flow also received AM signals, as this would make listening to many sporting events much easier, but I can find most of them elsewhere. With the ability to set up to 40 FM favorite channels and unlimited Internet favorite stations, there has to be something I’ll enjoy listening to, right? The ONE Flow utilizes the Lounge to organize favorites, making them easy to find.
It even has built in wi-fi.
The ONE Flow has built-in wi-fi to receive the Internet channels, but if you’re outside a wi-fi area, you can still listen via the FM tuner, or there is an aux-in port so you can plug your mp3 player into the ONE Flow and listen to your music that way. And yes, there is a headphone jack for the times when no one else wants to listen to your radio. Since it’s relatively small (5″ x 8″ x 3″) – you truly can take it with you or easily move it around the house. I’ve even been able to listen to the radio in the morning in the bathroom while I get ready, something I haven’t enjoyed in years.
Using the ONE Flow is relatively intuitive. The screen on the front shows a display of information and available options. With three buttons below the screen to control what is above and make selections, it is a streamlined and clear way to maneuver through the menus to find what you’re looking for. For $126.65 currently (regularly $149.00), the ONE Flow is a great introduction to the portable radio space.
