Jamba Juice Fitness Trends

Now that I have told you about the Steel-cut Oatmeal and the Fit ‘n Fruitful Smoothies Jamba Juice offers, I thought I’d introduce you to a few fitness events I hope to see trending across the country soon.

Attending the Fitness blogger event for the Live Fruitfully campaign, I got to try about 10 different workouts. Though they were all quite a workout, I thought I would highlight a few of the ones I enjoyed most. (Ones I hope to eventually see at my local YMCA where I work out!)

Bollywood Aerobics featuring Rahul Nath:

Have you ever wanted to try Bollywood dancing? I have secretly wanted to try for so long! Rahul combines the hottest and latest moves from bollywood cinema, with a high cardio workout… so you can lose weight, tone muscles and build cardio stamina. All the while releasing your inner bollywood star!

I found the class Surprisingly easy to keep up with, yet an exhausting workout at the same time. No moves to memorize, just follow along. Favorite part? It can be done anywhere because he has it all on DVD.

SurfSET featuring Bill Ninteau:

SurfSET reinvigorates the typical cardio and weight training routine by fusing all the elements of Surfing into a high intensity fat burning session. It’s all done on The RipSurfer X.

You will learn how to paddle, popup, carve, maintain balance and build the core strength of an experienced surfer. Already have excellent balance and engage in core strengthening exercise? They have advanced program for higher progression. I found it crazy hard to balance on the RipSurfer X so I would be on of those beginners they talk about.

Currently in Boston and NYC only, but on the way to Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, LA & San Francisco over the next few months (and rumor has it Newport, RI come the summer), which has me super excited to try it out again in my home state.

Juicy Athletic Moves (JAM) featuing Neda Soderqvist:

When I first heard about this I thought it was another Zumba type class… which couldn’t be further from the truth. Neda created JAM because she couldn’t find any workout that gave her the intense sweat of a hard run.

Inspired by all ethnic styles of dance, plyometrics, strength training, and more, JÄM keeps the heart rate up and sweat pouring throughout the class. It’s this extreme burn maximizing cardio training, strength building and toning – all in a one hour class.

I had an amazing time participating and was drenched in sweat in just 15 minutes… so I can’t imagine how a one hour class would feel. Neda not only created this for celebrities and athletes, but even the stay at home mom. Easy to follow and I could not wipe the smile off my face the whole time.

Neda teaches in California but her classes will soon be offered online as well.

Pound Rockout Workout featuring Kirsten Potenza & Cristina Peerenboom:

Kristen and Cristina were drummers and fitness buffs who came together to create an exercise workout through the fusion of movement and making music.

I didn’t know what to expect from this class. How would we really exercise and drum was all I could think of. We were all handed a set of Ripstix™(one-pound weighted drumsticks that provide resistance to the upper body, back, core and lower body)… the music came on… and we were following along banging the drumsticks to the music. It was an incredible time!

Your heart rate stays in the cardio zone, and gives you about a 700-900 calorie fat-burning cardio workout and a pilates inspired core and back workout. Right now it’s only in NY, LA, San Francisco & Miami…but you can bring it to your local gym if you check out their website. Also, the summer of 2012 is a tentative release of a dvd and Ripstix! I’m so excited I can’t wait!

    Liza, thank you for sharing! All of those work-outs seamed very exciting. Unfortunately, it looks like they won’t get to the Midwest for another 10 years 😉 Thank God for the internet and dvd’s. I’m going to check them out, since I just started a weight lost competition at work, I need a little something to get me motivated. Thanks!

    May I simply just say what a comfort to find a person that actually understands what they are discussing on the internet.
    You certainly know how to bring a problem to light and make it important.
    More and more people must look at this and understand
    this side of the story. I was surprised that you aren’t more popular since you surely possess the gift.
