The Dish – What’s For Dinner?

by Janice

Do your kids ever ask you, “What’s for dinner?” My kids do – all the time! And if you’re anything like me, the answer back to them is “I don’t know! Ask me later.”

Yes, I admit that I am often scrambling to find something to feed my family at the last minute. I love food; I just don’t love cooking it. And as a busy mom with active kids, I am often running around to school pick-ups, practices, and appointments. Dinner time sneaks up on me way too fast most nights.

Basically, I need help. I need a one-stop place where I can go to find recipe inspiration and quick ideas that are tailored to me. I found that place. You are going to love The Dish, brought to you by my friends at ConAgra Foods.

Whether it’s something quick like Crazy Corn Dogs (Jackson and Olivia would go crazy over these!) or a crock pot meal like Savory Italian Sauce Stew or Asian Style Shredded Pork Wraps, The Dish has so many options for busy moms and picky kids.

The Dish gives bloggers just like me (and you) easy access to recipes, cooking advice, kitchen tips, and exclusive content from ConAgra Foods. I love that they have developed The Dish with bloggers in mind. And I love that the recipes use ingredients that are easy to find and are often already in my cupboards.

The Dish also provides quick access to ReadySetEat™, their website dedicated to quick, easy meals (they also have a ReadySetEat™ Mobile App – these guys know how I roll). You can also join the Club Mum™ forums or join the fight against childhood hunger at Child Hunger Ends Here®.

So…are you ready?

What’s for dinner now?

Me and my family love what we call “potatoes in pants” (I’m not sure about the real name). I just heat up the oven and cut the potatoes in half an put a slice of bacon on each or them, and sometimes some garlic. You just let them bake until they are done.

Very good advice. I have found one for kids to eat vegetables.
As we all know eating vegetables do not love children, however the burgers on the barbecue are delicious. Well, I put on the barbecue small pieces of vegetables: onions, mushrooms, sliced potatoes and put oregano and a drizzle of oil. I promise that the children are happy, plus you enjoy cooking on the barbecue.
Sorry for my English, I’m Hispanic

My kids asks the same question too every night! And from what I remember, I was like that too when I was young. Thinking what to cook for dinner is sometimes time consuming. I read a post about an app that you can download on your iPhone or iPad, its called the Meal Guru. It helps you plan out meals and it even provides suggestions. It also tells you how its done and provides you with the nutritional content. :)
