I remember the days right after I graduated college and I finally had a “real” job that required me to wear suits most days. I loved shopping and so I regularly updated my wardrobe. My dry cleaning bill probably paid for the owners’ vacations a few times, but I loved how put together I was. These days, I’m a stay at home mom, and my wardrobe has changed drastically. I can’t tell you the last time I wore a suit, and I do what I can to avoid the dry cleaner because they’re expensive. And ironing? Ha! I purposely purchase clothes that don’t require an iron.
It sounds like sweats and a t-shirt, right? Not exactly. I may be out of the suit world, but I still like to feel and look put together. I may wear jeans many days, but I try to have something tailored on top. And there are many days when I want to wear a nice pair of pants and a blouse. Without my consultant income, I’m not purchasing the most trendy items. I want a look that I can wear for more than a few months, something timeless that I can update with pieces here and there but will hold their own next year and the year after.
That’s where the Foxcroft brand comes in. They understand this need for the modern casual but still polished wardrobe. Their clothes are non-iron and are designed with premium cotton to stay crisp and fresh all day long. The current collection, called “Purple Parfait” focuses on black and white with a splash of purples to make it vibrant and interesting. The line varies from a classic cotton blouse that comes in a range of hues to a non-iron stretch black trouser. They are all designed to have a modern twist on a classic, such as the fitted shirts with rakish looking cuffs.
Foxcroft is carried in specialty stores throughout the nation. Fortunately, they have a store locator to help you find where you can purchase their collection. The individual pieces are in the $80 range for both pants and tops and come in sizes from 4 to 18. From what I’ve seen of the collection, Foxcroft offers a way to integrate pieces that will last into your wardrobe.
