I love listening to online streaming music. It’s just so easy to turn my tunes on and listen while I work. It somehow helps me to get “in the zone”. My kids also love listening to the streaming music. I will be the first to admit though, that sometimes, the words are just not appropriate for my kids ears.
Many of the songs these days pose a negative image for our kids — sex, drugs, and more. Those are things I just don’t want my kids focusing on. That was why I was glad that Imbee Radio contacted us about doing a review of their online streaming music subscription just for kids!
What is imbee?
imbee is a safer social networking site that allows the young, hip and trendy to share and connect with friends, their lives and their world through a “one-of-a-kind” social media experience. Share playlists, make new global friends, chat with friends, share your videos, get your daily pop culture news, and much more.
I love the fact that Imbee Radio has music and social networking for my kids — without all the adult content. It is made specifically for them so that they have a place to call their own. Imbee Radio was created for the age group ages 8-14. It has a library with over 8 million clean songs from artists such as Justin Bieber, Lady Antebellum and many more! Your kids will always find something they like, and you will always have the peace of mind that your kids are safely listening to music that is age appropriate.
Is imbee safe?
imbee has security settings and is COPPA compliant. imbee requires identity authentication via a credit card from a parent or a teacher, exactly how the US Post Office verifies identity. Until a parent authorizes a child’s account, the child will not have full access to the features on the site. From there, imbee has built-in security settings that allow the parent to set age- appropriate parameters related to the child’s online activities.
Imbee has groups that you can join for latest updates from your favorite band to your favorite movie. My favorite group was the Twilight Saga. Yes! I am definitely a Twilight Mom! My daughter saw that they have a Mindless Behavior group, which is currently her favorite band, so, she was ALL over that one! You can even create your own group!
They also have Fanzones in which you can join for different reasons. There is a No Bullying zone, which is awesome and helps bring awareness to children about cyberbullying. I think this could be a great starter to introduce the younger crowds to Social Networking and allow them to maintain their secure identity while enjoying their time online.
