Kwikset Deadbolt Review

by Guest Contributor

I am all about making things as easy as can be.  Kwikset helps with this mission!  I was recently sent their new SmartCode Deadbolt lock set to review. One thing that I really love about this lockset is that you can set secret codes for others to get in to your home without you having to be there. You can set a code just for them as a one time use.  You then remove the code so it can’t be used again.

I had my brother in law come over to install this and it was very easy to do! It was done within 20 minutes. All the parts needed were there for you and easy to determine what should be used. Looking at the deadbolt and my doorknob, they are just about a perfect match.  I was very happy with that.

About the SmartCode deadbolt:

-Lock your door with the touch of a button
-Customizable access codes for increased security
-Customized automatic door locking after 30 seconds for peace of mind
-Installs in minutes with just a screw driver – no hard wiring needed
-Fits standard doors (1 3/8″ – 1 3/4″) – no screw holes required
-Replaces any deadbolt for keyless entry convenience
-Featuring SmartKey® Re-key Technology. The lock you can re-key yourself in seconds
-SmartKey cylinders feature a stainless steel side locking bar, racks and pins for increased strength and security
-Patented side locking bar technology offers improved security by protecting against lock bumping, an attack technique used to defeat conventional pin & tumbler locks
-Lifetime mechanical and finish warranty. 1 year electronics warranty.

Kwikset is a brand company that we know we can trust when it comes to the security of our home.

Kwikset manufactures and markets a complete line of door locks and door hardware including door knobs, door levers, deadbolts, handlesets, pocket door hardware and electronic keyless entry locks for residential and light commercial applications. I think this would be and easier and safer option for my 9 year old to get into the house. I have yet to give him a key because I am afraid he will lose it. With the Kwikset Lock I wouldn’t have to worry. I think it would also be great to give other family members their own code just in case there’s an emergency or something. Beats giving them a key.

Indeed it’s safer for the kids think of how many keys has you’re kid lost until now .From my point of view it much more safer and secure than the older locks.

Not only my kid but my husband forgets his key ALL the time! I have to leave the door unlocked sometimes and that scares me

Having 4 children in school and constantly losing of forgetting their keys, this would be perfect! We tend to keep the door unlocked just in case and that is a scary thought, especially now that it gets dark earlier.

We have one of those code boxes for our garages and we always use it. I completely freak when the electricity is out because I would not be able to get in our house otherwise. I would love this for our front door. It is genius!!

This would help me with peace of mind knowing that it locks itself within 30 seconds. I can be a little obsessive about checking all the doors to make sure they’re locked!

This would be such a big help with my sons when they come home from school and forget their keys. Our teen son, is the first to come home and often he forgets his house key and sits and waits for one of us to come home. During warmer weather that’s ok, but now it’s getting colder. This would be the perfect solution.
Thanks so much.

This lock would be a great help to us. It would make it easier for my 14 yr old son to get into the house. He has locked himself out of the house on a couple of occasions while his dad & I were in town shopping. Im always struggling to find my key and not drop everything im carrying. I would love to have this lock.

This year we are trying to buy our first house so we haven’t been able to buy anything for Christmas since we are worried about unexpected expenses with closing, so this would be such a blessing to us! We could use the money we were going to use to buy a lock for the new house to buy something special for our daughter! Thanks for the chance to win!!!

This MIRACLE deadbolt locking keyless entry system would be a God-Sent for my family. Between my hubby and I, we are ALWAYS misplacing our keyes. This would really help us out…BIG TIME. My bro-in-law has a similiar deadbolt system and when I go over to his home to feed his dog while he’s on vacation, it is a HUGE convenience not having to worry about, “Do I have the house key” or “I’m here at the house, do I have the front-door key with me?”
I really, really, really, really, really would like to have one of these locking systems on my front door.
Thank you SO MUCH for this giveaway, I truly appreciate it!

We got 3 sons now, and the 2nd one is a rowdy toddler who can never get out of anything. i could put the safety lock on our own bedroom since he runs around and gets into stuff when he is supposed to take a nap!

This would be great because my mum forgets her keys. Either that, or she spends five minutes digging through her bag (which seems to contain the proverbial kitchen sink in it) for them. We live on a main street so this is not the safest scenario, especially when it’s dark. I’d feel better with the SmartCode deadbolt
