Are You Scared To Mess With Facebook?

Janice and I can be accused of running from a fight, especially if it is with a giant who feeds us daily.

So when I read a post like Running a Successful Facebook Giveaway or Contest from Melanie at Blogging Basics 101, I’m not combing through the details looking for a loophole.

I just want to know how Facebook WANTS us to behave.

On our 5 Minutes For Mom Facebook Page we haven’t run any Facebook Promotions such as giveaways or contests, so I’ve never worried much about the Facebook Promotions Guidelines.

But when I noticed a long thread of conversation brewing about Melanie’s post, I clicked over to see what everyone was debating.

It turns out that one aspect of the guidelines relating to Facebook Likes — that is particularly important for bloggers running giveaways on their own blogs — seemed to have wiggle room for interpretation.
