Thank you for bringing awareness to this. A good friend of mine has a little girl battling cancer at the moment. You’re right, it doesn’t happen to ‘other people’. It can happen to anyone.

I am a 50 year-old mom of five, and grandmother of one. Why is that notable? Because when I was a baby my mother had to hand me over to a blood specialist who told her:”I don’t know whether I can return your little girl to you alive.”

In those days parents were not allowed to stay with their children in hospitals. I became a guinea pig but was saved. There were many hospital stays over the following years so I know about pain and loneliness, and above all – hope and brighter days.

Leukemia has found it’s way into my family’s life as well. Z was diagnosed two years ago, received a bone marrow transplant and is now in remission. I wrote about her struggle in my post at http://www.laughfriendly.com/blaph.

Keep up the fight. We’ll keep up the prayers, as well as raising funds for research. Be blessed.

This month we are celebrating my daughter being cancer free,(from the same cancer as Peyton,) for 3 1/2 years!! More needs to be done! GO TEAM!!

wow, what a story. i am drying tears trying to type this. your family will be in my prayers! My family just participated in A Walk in the Park at Six Flags benefiting CureKidsCancer. I hope that yall are able to raise lots of money AND enjoy your walk!
