Father’s Day is coming up in less than a week. As always, the approach of Father’s Day gets me thinking about my own dad. He didn’t come to be my dad in the typical way. But that’s another story.
He may not have been my dad at birth, but he was my mentor through the formative years of childhood, my example through the rough years of being a teenager, and my support through the challenging years of being a young mom.
My dad is not perfect, but neither am I. I’m grateful that circumstances (though difficult) allowed him to be my dad.
As much as I love my Dad, he is difficult to shop for. I can’t pick out clothes for him, he doesn’t need any more ties, and I am clueless when it comes to car parts (his true love).
Great Gift Ideas for Dad
For the Dad who needs to look his best:
Save Dad time in the morning (and keep him looking good) by getting him an electric razor from Remington. I have fond memories of my dad shaving with his electric razor every morning before heading out the door for work. I know how important a good razor is for Dad.
For the dad who likes to cook:
Get Dad a family-sized electric griddle from Black and Decker. He’ll be the star when he makes pancakes and bacon for breakfast for the whole family. If any of your dads are like mine, they love to be the star of the show, don’t they?
For the dad who’s trying to eat healthy:
The best thing about getting Dad a gift like the Juiceman Multifunctional Juice Extractor & Food Processor is that you can benefit from it, too. I was just talking with my husband the other night about his love for yogurt and fruit smoothies, and how he needs an appliance made just for smoothie-making. Bonus – the Juiceman is on sale right now!
For the Dad who loves to grill:
Does your dad (or husband) love to grill all year long? Get him a George Foreman Grill (something I have always wanted). With the George Foreman Grill, Dad can have grilled food any day of the year, without the hassle of firing up the backyard grill. The George Foreman Grill has the added benefit of being healthy – you can’t lose!
For the dad who lives in his shop:
Whether he’s working under the hood of the car or building on to the house (or any project in between) he’ll need light. Despite the fact that I have zero mechanical skills, even I am intrigued by the Black & Decker Swivel Head Work Light. I can picture my dad carrying this light everywhere.
For the outdoorsy dad:
Rayovac has a fantastic line of flashlights and lanterns for the Summer camping trip. Sportsman Area Lantern or the Sportsman Xtreme Flashlight. No more worrying about having enough light to set up the tent or find the missing tool in the dark. Dad will be prepared for camping with these lights.
