“Family Movie Night” is back this weekend, January 8th, 8/7c, on FOX, with “Change of Plans,” starring Brooke White, Joe Flanigan, and Phylicia Rashad.
Movies MADE for Families!
I LOVE to watch movies.
It is my favorite way to relax — curl up with a big bowl of popcorn and a good movie.
Now that my son is getting older, I am looking for movies to watch together that we BOTH can enjoy.
So personally, I couldn’t be happier that Walmart and P&G are continuing to make fantastic, family-friendly movies for “Family Movie Night.”
So far, Walmart and P&G have produced three movies for “Family Movie Night” — Secrets of the Mountain, The Jensen Project, and A Walk in my Shoes.
This Saturday night, January 8th, 8/7c, on FOX, it will be “Family Movie Night” again with “Change of Plans,” starring Brooke White, Joe Flanigan, and Phylicia Rashad.
And these Movies are GOOD!
Last fall, I had the privilege of attending a blogging junket in Toronto on the set of “Change of Plans.”
We spent the day on set, chatting with the director, cast and crew, watching them shoot and hearing them share their passion for this great project. They had assembled a fantastic, quality team!
(I will publish my interview with Brooke White later this week, here on 5 Minutes for Mom.)
From my conversations and experiences on the set, I was excited to see the final product. But, of course, I had to wait. The movie was still in the “making” stages.
(While I was in Toronto, I had a chance to view “A Walk in My Shoes” and was thoroughly impressed! If you liked “Touched by an Angel” then you will love “A Walk in my Shoes.” It made me confident that “Change of Plans” would not disappoint.
In December, I watched a review copy of “The Jensen Project” with Jackson and he loved it! I only wish I had more of these movies to share with him!)
Last night, Jackson and I stayed up past his bedtime viewing “Change of Plans.” Since it is geared for the family, I really wanted a nine year old’s opinion!
The votes are in — we loved it!
(In fact, we both REALLY hope it gets picked up as a TV series. It would be so nice to have a weekly show to follow along together.)
Change of Plans is not only engaging, but it has important messages about family, working through pain and struggles, and sacrificing for one another. It is character-building, not character-weakening TV viewing.
Movies to WIN
We also have some giveaway fun!
We have a Family Movie Night gift pack that includes all the P&G/Walmart family movies to date.
That’s 3 family movies: “Secrets of The Mountain“, “Jenson Project” and “A Walk in my Shoes“, as well as a cozy fleece blanket with the “Change of Plans” logo.
(The DVD for “A Change of Plans” will not be hitting the shelves until later this spring, so we couldn’t include it in the giveaway.)
TO ENTER:
To enter just leave us a comment telling us if you have seen any of the Family Movie Night movies from P&G and Walmart. If not, what movie sounds like it would most appeal to your family?
This giveaway is open to until January 21st and the winner will be announced January 22nd. This giveaway is void where prohibited. Please see our site’s terms and conditions for our complete contest rules.
Please Note: Travel, accommodations, etc for the set visit, along with review and giveaway materials, were provided by P&G and Walmart. As always, my opinions are 100% my own.

I just heard about Family Movie Night for the first time today, so we haven’t seen any of them. I really want to see Change of Plans, but they all look great! I love that the ads during the TV airings are family-appropriate as well. I’m so tired of lunging for the remote on every commercial when my boys are watching sporting events with my husband!

We saw Secrets of the Mountain as a family (with our then 6 year old) and we loved it. I was afraid it wouldn’t be appropriate for our daughter but it was a great movie 🙂
I am going to DVC Change of Plans and we will watch it on Sunday (earlier). We still enforce the 7:30pm bedtime so it comes on too late to share with younger ones.
Renee Richardson says
I really wanted to see all of them but life got in the way and I just didn’t get a chance. I was really looking forward to seeing A Walk in My Shoes. Thanks for the great giveaway 🙂
