Tackle It Tuesday #99!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Hi Fellow Tacklers!

This is Janice here and I have an exciting announcement – we have a new resident tackler here at 5 Minutes for Mom. After two years of Tackling, I am passing over the cleaning supplies to Carolyn from Scrapping Servant.

Lately, I have been so busy with the management and maintenance of 5 Minutes for Mom that I haven’t had the time to keep my tackling up to inspiring standards. So, rather than feeling like I am letting you all down each week, we decided to have Carolyn take over the role of hosting Tackle It Tuesday.

Welcome Carolyn!!! Thanks so much for joining us – we are thrilled to have you!

Hello Ladies, it’s Carolyn, your new resident tackler here. I am so excited to be with you all. I have been tackling here since February of 2007 (right about when Janice started losing count) so I brought us back up to speed on the numbers :)

Can you believe we are on week 99 already? Also did you know that Janice is actually the one that started this Meme back in May of 2006!? Thank you Janice for coming up with such a great way to hold ourselves accountable with our housework, big or small. And thank you for allowing me to take over in your footsteps.

Now on to my tackle this week. We had my son dedicated at our church on Sunday (1 Samuel 1:26-28) and had a birthday party for him at our house afterwards… so I had a lot of work to do.

I desperately needed to clean the kitchen and I really wanted to get my fish tank out of the house since it has been sitting without fish for about 3 months now. My yards and my bathroom badly needed done also but my husband and sister-in-law did those for me so I missed out on the photos. (Which bummed me out as far as our tub goes because I don’t think I have even seen it this clean, or the water in it that blue! Thank you Joshie!)

Here are my photos…

Ps… Did you know you could syphon water with a house by…

  1. putting the hose into the water you wish to get rid of
  2. turning the hose on (yes to add more water)
  3. turning the hose off again
  4. then unscrewing the hose from the spout?

Thank you Papa for that tip!

I can’t wait to see what you have done ladies!

What are you tackling? Link up and let us know!

That clean-up job requires serious motivation!! Great job! Today I’m tackling buying curtains for my dining room and living room. It involves shopping so it can’t be that daunting of a task!!

Nothing like company is coming to get you to clean the house! :D PS I always siphoned stuff by sucking on the hose. Not a good idea. Never know what gross stuff you will get a mothful of.

For your daily dose of vintage goodness & a bit of silliness, stop by Confessions of an Apron Queen, the home of Vintage Thingies Thursdays.

Thanks for the water siphoning tip!! we took our fish tank down a few months ago because it was just too hard for me to take care of. No matter what I did it turned green, and the fish died…. oh well.

I’m new, but I love this kind of motivation. I have a lot of projects to tackle. Today it was my dinosuar of a stove and t6he countertops. Maybe next week I’ll be brave and share pictures. I was too embarrased this week. The stove was REALLY bad. :(

This week I cleaned off flat surfaces and moved my kids’s toys upstairs again. Note: this is a never ending process as they always bring more down every hour or so. Help!
