We had one that jumped out of his bowl and tried to kill himself. He was horribly disfigured afterward, but lived for over a year! I couldn't believe he lived that long :) We even went out and bought another one in anticipation of his death. So, for awhile, we had 2 Beta's. Beta fish really are hearty fish.
