Okay, I have to hurry and press publish on this post because after watching this video I just had to book myself a pedicure!
Yes, spa-time is the best me-time I can bank.
Facials, massages, pedicures… that’s the stuff we moms need.
The back-to-school prep and my backlog of work has been building my stress and I’ve decided to pop down the street for a treat for my feet.
While we were at BlogHer 2010, we asked five moms this question..
What’s Your Favorite Way To Pamper Yourself?
What About You?
What’s your favorite way to pamper yourself?
And do you treat yourself often enough?
Thanks to Our Five Moms
The awesome five women in this video are:
Erica our fabulous virtual assistant here at 5 Minutes for Mom
Dawn from Because I Said So
Angelica from Modern Familia
Amy from Mom Made That
Haley from Love Life Family and Then Some
By the way, I shot the photo above in May 2009 at a spa tweetup we had in Seattle.

You know I still feel pretty good from all the pampering at BlogHer! Wow that was a lot of fun pakced into such a small amount of time. I like getting my nails done, and sometimes my feet!

Pedicures. That is my ‘all me’ time.
In fact, I need to get them more often…. 🙂
Amy says
Thanks for including me in the video. I think it’s time to get that massage, right?
Shannon (The Mommy-Files) says
Oh girl! I had so much fun that night in Seattle! That was the first time I ever had a massage 🙂 I could definitely do more of those in the future! Have a great weekend!

I love pedicures but I think I’ve only had 2 since my 2 1/2 year old was born. I am getting one tomorrow and at a fancy spa to boot. 🙂
I also treat myself to my fave Starbucks coffee a couple of times a month.
A haircut is not super relaxing for me because I always have a toddler on my lap. I get my hair cut in my hometown which is an hour where I live now so she always comes with me – and gets her hair cut at the same time. She is well-behaved, though, so at least it isn’t stressful!
Susan says
How fun that you’re getting a pedicure tomorrow at a fancy spa. Yay!
There is a super fancy spa near here where I have been a few times, but it is so expensive so lately I’ve been going to a much more affordable place for my pedicures. It’s still very nice, but not the same level of luxury… but half the price means I can go twice as often.

Pamper myself? What’s that?
Last week I had my first full body massage. I had a gift certificate, so I used it. Must. Do. That. Again! I have never had a mani or pedi.
For me, getting my hair done is very relaxing. Whether I’m getting a perm or just a trim, I sit there with my eyes closed, no toddler asking me 300 questions a minute, and I let someone else do my hair. I will be getting a perm Tuesday morning. Bad smell aside, I’m sooooo looking forward to 2 hours alone. lol

Isn’t it so sad that we moms rarely take enough time to pampering ourselves? Usually the only time I do it is when I must get my hair or a pedicure done b/c it’s been months and months and I have to go to a blogging conference.
Today I just splurged and got a pedicure even though I’m not going out of town.
And massages… I so rarely let treat myself… but that’s my favorite thing ever!!!

Yea, I’m awful. I hardly even allow myself to buy clothes or accessories. I just have a hard time justifying spending money on things or taking time for me. I can spoil everyone else and do a darn good job of it.
I do manage to treat myself to a good coffee about once a week.
You’re so right about not doing something for yourself till a conference or something. That’s the only time I buy clothes. lol With my hair I always wait till it’s so bad I can’t stand it. I’m just silly like that. 🙂
Susan says
I know what you mean… as moms we so often put ourselves at the bottom of the priority list.
Thank goodness for conferences or my hair might never get done! LOL
