Tackle it Tuesday — Jennifer’s Closet

As you know, Janice and Susan are far too busy to tackle anything. I’m sure that sometimes they feel like they aren’t getting anything done, but they have both tackled labor and delivery, and now they are both tackling being mommies of two, feeding, changing diapers, and trying to run their business. So, I’ve stepped in this week, and I’m giving them a pat on the back for everything that they actually are doing, even if it’s not the sort of thing that they can post before and after pictures about.

My closet is something that I tackle on a regular basis. In spite of the fact that I’ve moved about every 3 or 4 years, which means I’ve packed up everything in my closet, I always still end up with things that I probably should have thrown out long ago. This time I was ruthless, because I’ve had a complete change of heart.

The Little Black Book of Style by Nina Garcia convinced me to do some serious closet editing. This is a great book, for the fashionista and the fashion-challenged alike. You can read my full review here and enter to win a copy for yourself.

This is before (and keep in mind, I did some fairly serious purging over the summer):

I got rid of enough stuff to fill up three large bags to take to Goodwill, not to mention tossing about 100 wire hangers that were just taking up space on my hanging bar. I don’t know when everything has been so neat and well-spaced and hung like with like. It’s been a week, and it’s still looking good! I needed the inspiration, and I think that my buying habits are going to be influenced so that it won’t get filled with things I don’t need or shouldn’t have, so hopefully it will continue to look nice. The second picture from above now looks like this:

What about you? What have you tackled this week?

That is so funny that you are tackling your closet. My tackle is very similar and it involves what to do with all of those wire coat hangers. It’s all on my blog today. Happy Tuesday!

Oh yes, I need to work on my closet one of these days too. I think that 90% of the clothes in there are ones that don’t fit anymore - and let’s face it, probably never will again. And even if they do, they’ll be out of style anyway…

Yours looks awesome - great job! :)

Wonderful job! I’m working on my HUGE laundry pile this week. I was sick last week so it all piled up on me.
