I was double checking the rules and I want to clarify that I do have two drawings in my post but only the first one is an entry. My other daughter wanted to enter too and I did not have the heart to tell her she could not enter so I posted her picture too and the bottom of the post.

I finally remembered to post my daughter’s drawing!!! To throw in my two cents. If voting is part of picking the winner it should only be part, maybe 25%. Or just have impartial judges, the voting becomes a populary contest and not about the actual drawing.

I didn’t see age brackets listed either, so my 12 year old artist in residence (who would LOVE to help pay for her Irish Step-Dancing classes….) has entered a drawing as well~ Hope that’s OK… I did see some older kids mentioned in the comments above….

Just to add my humble 2-cents: I, too, agree that voting is not the best method for picking the final winner. After all, it’s called a “Drawing” Contest; so the finalist should be chosen as you said, “based on age appropriate effort and creativity” rather than a Democracy poll.

How wonderful! I do agree about not having voting determine the winner…when that happens, those who have bigger blogs or social networks have a huge advantage…perhaps a pannel of elementary art teachers could help you judge?
