Disney, Lucasfilm and ABC TV has invited 5 Minutes for Mom contributing blogger Dawn Cullo to Los Angeles, CA to attend the Star Wars: The Force Awakens and ABC TV media trip. Dawn’s expenses have been paid for the trip but no other compensation were paid and all opinions are Dawn’s.
I attended the secret Star Wars Press Event in Los Angeles and it was a great venue to see the merchandise, costumes, games and cast all in one place!
This event was SO secret that even if you could have guessed where it was you were not going to be able to get in because it was hidden even with in the venue. There was a guest list and security was around ever corner. The hospitality suite was a great place to meet other journalist, work, get a bite to eat and check out all the awesome Star Wars merchandise.. I even saw Mario Lopez walking around the area.
Star Wars Merchandise
You wont have a hard time finding the perfect gift for the Star Wars fan in your life. There is something for everyone!
Costumes
Throughout the event were many costumes on display.
Interactive Displays
Disney Infinity was at the event showing “The Force Awakens” play set which will be available on December 18th.
Google Cardboard was amazing, I was able to look around on the desert planet of Jakku.
Bad Robot Workshop (J.J. Abrams production company) is where I got the chance to create a custom design my own Star Wars Bad Robot T-shirt.
Ample Hills Creamery is making a special Light Side and Dark Side Frozen Custard. I tried them both and they are great BUT I preferred the Dark Side.
Cast Members
I was allowed to also sit in the big press conference where Mindy Kaling was the moderator for the first half which included Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, director J.J. Abrams and screen writer Lawrence Kasdan.
Season of the Force at Disneyland
After the Star Wars press event I headed over to Disneyland to visit the Season of the Force and check out the fantastic Star Wars theming that has taken over Tomorrowland.
